ABOUT BRYAN CLICKENER
Hi. I'm Bryan. Thanks for visiting. I’m an insurance guy, which basically means I help companies find insurance - mostly employee benefits solutions - that work for them.
In case you were wondering, it’s pronounced Click-en-er. To my knowledge, it’s an anglicized version of a German surname that was changed to what it is now, sometime in the middle of the 1800’s. Every so often, I’ll scratch the ancestry itch, but I don’t know much more than that. I’m the fifth child and a bicentennial baby born in Monterey, California, while my dad was stationed there. A decade later after my dad retired from the military, we moved from Virginia Beach to rural Maryland. I grew up in the western part of the state, near Deep Creek Lake.
I earned a degree in Marketing from George Mason University; I studied at several colleges before achieving that milestone. After college, I stayed in Northern Virginia and now live in Fairfax Station, Virginia, with my wife, two daughters, and son.
In my spare time, I read, run, CrossFit, and try to ride any kind of board on wheels, snow, or water (I have the x-rays to prove it). I have many other interests and hobbies that are fueled by my natural curiosity and drive to figure out how things work.
In previous lives, I've worked as a retail manager, as a government IT contractor where I was Bryan-of-all-trades; and now, I'm in my second stint in insurance industry. My insatiable curiosity and my diverse job experiences give me a unique edge in the insurance world, and hopefully, it will give you a unique vantage point.
